Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, welcoming Nusrat Ghani, UK Minister of State at the Department for Business and Trade, Minister of State for the Investment Security Unit, and Minister for Industry and Economic Security, stressed that the UK is one of Kazakhstan’s top trading partners and the seventh largest investor into country’s economy.
More than 550 British businesses are now operating in Kazakhstan, including leading companies as Shell and Ernst & Young.
As the Head of State noted, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the UK increased by 60% last year to 1.8 billion dollars.
– We are interested in expanding our trade and investment ties with London. I am pleased to observe that the British side is also interested in developing comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan, – the President said.
In turn, Nusrat Ghani expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for the warm welcome and noted that the British side attaches special importance to the development of bilateral relations.
