The Council of Foreign Investors is an advisory body under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Council's main task is to develop recommendations and proposals on matters relating to:
- determining the main directions of the investment policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- improving the investment climate in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- improving the regulatory legal framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan on investment;
- promoting the contribution of foreign companies to the diversification of the economy, industrialization and the development of small and medium-sized business in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- integrating the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan into global economic processes;
- the strategy for attracting foreign investment into the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- the implementation of major investment programs and projects of the Republic of Kazakhstan that are of international significance.
Composition of the Council:
The Chairman of the Council is the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The permanent members of the Council include: the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Deputy Heads of the Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Assistants to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the head of the Council's working body.
The foreign-side composition of the Council is formed from representatives of international economic and financial organizations, and the chief executives of foreign companies or their deputies, in accordance with the procedure established by the Regulation.
