During the meeting, the Minister reported to the President about the development of the education system and the executed work in terms of preparation for the new academic year.
The President noted that, despite the instability in the global economy, investments in education will not be reduced. In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the importance of raising the status of teachers and linking wages to the level of their skills.
The President noted that in secondary education it is necessary to use the updated content of the educational process based on the experience of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
As a key trend in technical and vocational education, Nursultan Nazarbayev highlighted the increased participation of employers in personnel training. In addition, it was noted that in science the emphasis should be placed on the introduction of research results into production.
In turn, Aslan Sarinzhipov reported on the current situation with the organization of the educational process.
“This year, more than 7.5 thousand schools have opened their doors to 2.6 million students. There are about 345 thousand first grade students, what is by 15 thousand more than in the previous academic year. All schools are provided with textbooks,” said the Minister.
He noted that the program of preschool enrollment has reached 84%, while five years ago this figure was only 30%.
The issue of advanced training of teachers and personnel training for the needs of the economy was discussed separately.
“Over the recent two years, 123 thousand teachers passed different professional courses,” the minister said.
Following the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan charged the Minister with specific tasks.
