Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has welcomed Stanislav Zas in the capital city of Kazakhstan and noted the great significance of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in ensuring peace and stability in the area. The Head of State stressed that Kazakhstan initially supported the nomination of Belarus for the post of CSTO Secretary General.
- The CSTO, as an international organization, has strengthened itself as the essential factor in ensuring security over a wide area of the Eurasian continent. For us, the CSTO is a priority organization; we have done a lot for its growth, as, by the way, Belarus has. We are actively working in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly. The upcoming appointment will play an important role in terms of strengthening the Organization’s capacity, the President of Kazakhstan said.
In turn, Stanislav Zas thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the opportunity to meet, congratulated on his victory in the elections and on assuming the office of the President of Kazakhstan.
- It is obvious that represented by you the nation of Kazakhstan have chosen a man of wisdom, an accomplished statesman with good diverse background. I sincerely wish every success in all matters for the benefit of Kazakhstan. We very much appreciate the friendly relations that have developed between our states and the nations, and are very grateful for the support provided by Kazakhstan to Belarus at international platforms, including within the CSTO. We will try to strengthen this useful interaction, Zas said.
