The Head of the State underscored that the talks were held in an open and constructive way.
- We have discussed a set of bilateral cooperation issues and exchanged views on challenging international points. The meeting results allow us to say with confidence that Kazakhstan and Israel can cooperate effectively on a wide range of issues, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Benjamin Netanyahu paid special attention to trade and economic issues, noting the negative impact of the unfavorable environment in the global market on total turnover. In this context, the sides also discussed what resources can be used to promote economic cooperation.
- Agreements for recovery of direct air travels and working out the introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries have been reached. Such measures, in turn, should contribute to the deepening of bilateral business contacts, and cooperation in tourism, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
As the President noted, the essential stimulus for business ties’ progress between the two countries is a free trade zone establishment between the Eurasian Economic Union and Israel, upon which the substantive negotiations have already taken place.
- Today we have had a lively and open exchange of views on international and regional issues as well. As important areas of our cooperation we have marked the UN, CICA and other multilateral organizations and forums, the President of Kazakhstan said.
The Head of State said that after the meeting the sides agreed to maintain a regular political dialogue and cultivate contacts at all levels, as well as to team up for bringing the partnership to a totally new level.
- I am positive that logical actualization of the agreements will facilitate bilateral cooperation deepening in all areas that we have discussed today, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
At the end of the briefing the Head of the State congratulated the friendly people of Israel on the coming holiday of Hanukkah.
