During the visit, President Nursultan Nazarbayev got acquainted with the work of the plant and met with its staff members.
In a conversation with the plant workers, the President stressed that the pace of Aktobe region’s development corresponds with the steady advancement of the entire country.
“In recent years, the government has invested more than 500 billion tenge into the development of the region; 500,000 square meters of housing have been commissioned and 5 schools and 2 kindergartens have been built. It is of utmost importance that 90 percent of children are attending kindergartens. In addition, new roads and airports will be built in line with the Nurly Zhol new economic policy. Thus, each citizen of Kazakhstan will get a job,” he said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the largest Central Asian enterprise will make a great contribution to the strengthening of the regional economy.
“The new plant is among the leading projects of the country’s industrial and innovative development programme. It is equipped with modern technologies from Siemens Company. One thousand people took part in the construction of the plant and 760 people will be employed after it is put into operation. The amount of output per worker reaches 80,000 dollars, which is the highest productivity rate in the country. Previously, there were no enterprises of the kind in Kazakhstan. The rail tracks that the plant is producing are also a new product for our country. We used to buy rail tracks outside Kazakhstan, and now we are able not only to satisfy the needs of the domestic market, but also to export them. In addition, small components that are needed for railroad construction will also be manufactured here,” he said.
In conclusion, the President thanked all those who took part in the construction of the plant, wishing them every success in the future.
The plant has 3 main and 17 auxiliary shops and is expected to produce 200,000 tons of rail tracks and 230,000 tons of minor components per year.
The plant will ensure delivery of rail products to “National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” JSC, as well as to the countries of near and far abroad.
