During the meeting Pat McQuaid noted that the “Saryarka” republican cycle track, constructed on the Head of State’s initiative is one of the world’s unique modern sports facilities that successfully hosted the first stage of the Track Cycling World Cup in 2011.
Pat McQuaid awarded a golden badge of the International Cycling Union to the President of Kazakhstan and thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the contribution to the development of cycling sports in the world and support shown to the Kazakh cycling team “Astana Pro Team”.
During the meeting a decision was also made to hold in Astana the Asian road race championship in 2014 as well as the Junior world championship in track cycling in 2015.
