During the meeting, the leaders of Kazakhstan and Cuba discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations through the expansion of cooperation in trade and economy, education, culture, sports and agriculture.
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Raul Castro also focused on cooperation in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, noting the need to exchange best practices between the Kazakh and Cuban experts in these areas.
The sides also discussed topical issues of the international agenda. The President of Kazakhstan expressed his gratitude to Cuba for the support of our country’s bid for non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2017-2018.
