During the meeting, the Head of State greeted the company's decision to work in Kazakhstan.
- We welcome your decision to work in Kazakhstan, in AIFC (Astana International Financial Centre). We have made changes in the Constitution and a number of laws of the country. English law and preferences for all participants have been introduced. We create all favourable conditions for those who will work, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Nasdaq’s decision will serve as a good incentive for its partners and other foreign companies to develop cooperation with the AIFC.
In turn, Adena Friedman shared her impressions of the work done by Kazakhstan on creating the international financial centre.
- We are very impressed with the plans for AIFC development. We would like to note a careful study of all issues related to the financial centre’s functioning. We welcome such a solid approach to this work, the head of Nasdaq said.
In addition, Adena Friedman expressed readiness to start cooperation with AIFC and provide Kazakhstan’s Stock Exchange with advanced technologies for its functioning.
During the talks, the sides focused on making joint efforts and establishing long-term relations in the formation of the positive investment climate in Kazakhstan.
In conclusion, the Head of State has invited Adena Friedman to take part in the official opening of the AIFC in July this year.
