During her working trip to South Kazakhstan region, Gulshara Abdykalikova visited a number of education, health and culture facilities, having met with representatives of ethnic and cultural associations, as well as the women’s community of the region.
Addressing the representatives of ethnic and cultural associations in the Centre of customs, rituals and traditions in Shymkent, Gulshara Abdykalikova highlighted the importance of social and political aspect of the Year of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. The Secretary of State stressed that all events should be aimed at strengthening of peace, social accord and unity of people.
During the meeting, Deputy Mayor of the region Yerlan Aitakhanov informed Gulshara Abdykalikova of main results of work in 2014 and told about future plans of the Assembly of South Kazakhstan region.
As part of the national campaign “APK – 20 good deeds”, the books by doctor of pedagogical sciences, member of the Academy of Humanities of Kazakhstan, head of the scientific and expert group of the Assembly Asma Kalybekova titled “Folk wisdom of Kazakhs in education” and “Theoretical foundations of Kazakh folk pedagogy” were handed over to the book depository of the Centre.
In addition, Secretary of State attended a solemn opening ceremony of the 270-bed hospital for children and wished the medical staff success in their efforts to improve children’s health. During the year, the hospital will provide inpatient treatment for more than 10,000 children under the age of 15.
Gulshara Abdykalikova attended the №1 gymnasium named after Alexander S. Pushkin, which opened its doors after reconstruction on September 1, 2014.
The Secretary of State also visited a regional history museum, getting acquainted with an exhibition devoted to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.
At the end of her trip, Gulshara Abdykalikova met with the women’s community of South Kazakhstan region. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the development of demographic policy and widening participation of women in the implementation of “Kazakhstan -2050” Strategy, “Nurly Zhol -Path to the Future” new economic policy along with the Strategy for gender equality in Kazakhstan for 2006-2016.
Following the results of the working trip, Gulshara Abdykalikova gave a number of specific instructions to state authorities.
