Dear Kazakhstanis!
I congratulate you with all my heart on the great Orthodox holiday – Easter Sunday!
From the ancient times the holiday of Easter is celebrated as a symbol of renewal and revival. Today all citizens of our country irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds celebrate this holiday with the Orthodox believers of Kazakhstan.
The world is suffering difficult times, and the difficulties touched us too. But I know that we will overcome all misfortunes owing to harmony and good relations between the representatives of different religions and ethnic groups.
Due to the traditions of tolerance established in our society, our country became a place for global dialogue of religions. Astana will host the third Congress of Leaders of the World and Traditional Religions in July 2009.
I express gratitude to the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan of Astana and Almaty Methodius, leaders of other confessions for their efforts in uniting the people, strengthening beliefs and hopes, calling to good and love for the nearest.
The state, in turn, will further create environment for the development of all religions, freedom of religion and religious associations.
I wish all fellow citizens peace and well-being in their homes and prosperity to our country!
