The Energy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is established for the purposes of the stable and efficient development of the energy sector in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Council is a consultative and advisory body under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main task of the Council is:
1. elaboration of proposals on the strategic directions of development of the energy sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2. elaboration of proposals on interaction with foreign partners operating at the largest oil and gas fields of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The activities of the Council are regulated by Decree No. 285 of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 14 March 2012 «On the Energy Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan».
