During the meeting the President of Kazakhstan congratulated the members of the crew on returning safely to the Earth and ending the important mission on the International Space Station.
- We supported each of you. Of course, people of Kazakhstan kept their fingers crossed for Aydin Aimbetov, who was the third astronaut in the history of our country. It is significant that he made his flight on the 60th year since the beginning of the construction of the first and largest cosmodrome in the world - Baikonur - said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The President of Kazakhstan also added that the first man flew into space from Baikonur, and since then anyone who overcomes the gravity from the Kazakh land, is greeted by our compatriots like close friends.
In turn, members of the crew congratulated people of Kazakhstan on the remarkable event, noting the fruitful completion of the mission.
A.Aimbetov thanked the President and people of Kazakhstan for the trust and the honor to represent our country at the International Space Station.
During the briefing for media representatives, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the successful development of Kazakhstan's space industry, noting that today of more than two hundred countries in the world, only a few have the opportunity to send their fellow countryman into space.
- Our astronauts are trained thanks to the support of the Russian Space Agency and the Russian leadership. Today Kazakhstani satellites perform important communications and research functions. Colonel Aimbetov has achieved tasks set for the mission. All funds allocated for this purpose in the long run will pay off and bring great practical benefits - said Kazakh President.
