During the meeting, the Head of State pointed out that the traditionally high level of the Summit and invited the President of the European Commission to take part in the scheduled meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which is to take place in December this year in St. Petersburg.
For his part, Jean-Claude Juncker highlighted the importance of the partici[ation of the Kazakh delegation and Nursultan Nazarbayev personally in the 12th Summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting.
- I keep in mind my trip to Kazakhstan in 2008 and our conversation about stability in the world. We need to meet more often, the President of the European Commission said.
The parties reviewed the current international policy agenda, including aspects of global security, and also discussed issues of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Council.
In addition, on the sidelines of the Summit, the President of Kazakhstan held meetings with Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Dmitry Medvedev and Giuseppe Conte, the Prime Ministers of the Russian Federation and the Italian Republic.
